Brand Your Blog! Use A Unique Moniker

I’ve had quite a few bloggers ask how they can add a personal signature to their blog posts.  So if you want to add the personal touch to your blog with your own unique moniker, here’s how to do it.

There are three ways to come up with your signature graphic:

  1. Sign your signature on a piece of paper and scan it.  Use a graphic program like Paint or Photoshop to properly size it and/or clean it up if it needs it.
  2. Using Paint or Photoshop’s insert text option, select a font that resembles your cursive or print style and spell out your name.  Then save it. (.jpg, .gif, or .png formats will work)
  3. Use a program like MyLiveSignature or Signature Maker to create your personal moniker.  Both support creativity with things like text effects, different sizes and colors.

Next, upload the signature graphic to your blogs’ upload or image Brand-Your-Blog-Using-A-Moniker directory.  There are several ways to add the image to your blog posts:

  1. Hard-code the html needed into your themes template.
  2. Use a plugin like LiveSig which was designed for MyLiveSignature or Add-Graphic-Signature, which has a nice feature enabling you to omit the signature from a particular post or AddSignature which handles up to three signatures, great for multi-author blogs like ours.

Instructions for the plugins are on their respective sites.  As you can see, adding a signature is really not that hard.  Yet your moniker will definitely give your blog its’ own custom brand and personal touch.
