This a great educational post for those of you thinking about purchasing existing websites. I know from experience that what a seller claims for revenue and what is actual can be two different things. Remember the caveat, “Buyer Beware”!

As Scott points out though, you can and probably should (I always do) TWEAK the site for better performance. Just because the seller gives you his past performance history there is no reason to believe you will have the same performance. You could do worse or if you are proactive and teachable you can do better.
