Reduce Ping Banning Issues! Use This Tool

Not everyone is aware of the two inherent problems with WordPress when it comes to Pinging. Now one of these problems is scheduling future posts which has not worked on the older versions of WordPress. The problem is that WordPress ignored the future date and pinged right away causing banning issues.

Supposedly this issue was resolved with the release of 2.1, but other than MaxBlogPress’ reference that it is fixed, I have not seen a solid answer. There’s even a Future Posts Thread on the WP Forums asking about this that still remains unanswered.

The second problem is that your WordPress blog can irritate the ping services. How many of us have published a post only to later see a misspelling or problem, then fix it and SAVE. Do you know what happens every time you do this? WordPress pings every single time you update a post. Talk about ping banning issues!

Here’s a new Plugin from MaxBlogPress that will reduce ping banning issues by preventing the unnecessary pings caused from editing your posts … PLUS, if you setup a future post by editing the time stamp, it will ping only when your post appears in future.

Pay attention because here’s a very useful feature of MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer plugin and one that we will use daily. There is a built-in Ping Log that shows the latest actions performed by the plugin. With it I have found that not all of my posts have been properly pinged.

These guys have their ’stuff’ together and provide all the needed information, along with screen captures, you might need to install and use their plugins. I definitely recommend this plugin!
