The Oddest Project Ever? Squidoo’s Ever Project

Best in the world? Worst, cutest, geekiest, ugliest, wisest, zippiest? Squidoo is at it again. They have partnered with Digimedia, owners of ever.com and launched the Ever Project“. It will let you set up Squidoo style pages with a newspaper look using URL’s like wisest.blog.ever.com or best.christmas-lights.ever.com.

The Ever Project was just launched this month so there are plenty of available “unique” URL names, but as news spreads I can just see all those internet marketers snapping up lens’ names. Lens management is contained within Squidoo and all of the terms of service, etc. are the same. There are 75 superlatives you select in front of your chosen keyword to make up the lenses’ URL. It will be amusing to see the creative names that people come up with like ugliest.person.ever.com (its Howard Stern).

Squidoo’s Ever Projectspacer2.gifThe big question on everyone’s mind … will Google love Squidoo’s “Ever Project” sites like they used to love Squidoo’s original sites? I hope so, but even if it doesn’t happen I’ve snapped up a couple of URL’s. After all it’s another backlink.

On a side note, traffic for Squidoo is still well below the highs prior to the Squidoo Slap and I don’t see any Squidoo pages in the top 100 Google searches for the keyphrases I tried. I also checked on some of The Ever Project pages and the ones I checked were not in the top 100 results.
